The northernmost point on Menorca has always been a place of reverence and respect. This is due to its location, which allows you to see both the sunrise and the sunset, and because it is dangerous for sailors. The lighthouse, which crowns a 90 metre high limestone cliff, was inaugurated on 1 March 1857 and has a beam of light that reaches 70 km. It was witness to the largest shipwreck in the area.
Our hike gives a good impression of how this island was formed 410 million years ago. The various types of ancient rock are impressive in terms of their texture and colours. A spectacle of nature! We walk along the coast and pass a few beaches and bays where you hardly ever meet anyone. Here we can go for a swim if we wish. At the end, we reach the mighty lighthouse and its surroundings.
