Day 8 of 8 days around the Camí de Cavalls

Son Bou to Binissafúller (approx. 23 km)

This stage of the Camí de Cavalls from Son Bou to Binissafúller offers a varied journey through quiet coastline, rural landscapes, and fascinating historical sites in the south of Menorca. Shortly after leaving Son Bou, the trail reaches the remote and beautiful Cala de Llucalari, a peaceful, untouched cove surrounded by cliffs and open countryside — often far less visited than the island’s more famous beaches. From here, the route turns inland, leading through tranquil rural landscapes and offering a glimpse into Menorca’s ancient past. One of the most interesting sites along this stretch is the Dolmen de Ses Roques Llises, an important prehistoric burial monument dating back thousands of years and a reminder of the island’s rich archaeological heritage. A little further you can make a detour to Torre d’en Galmes, the largest and one of the most important Talayotic archaeological sites in Menorca. The prehistoric settlement is located on a hill between Alaior and Son Bou and offers a strategic view over the south coast of the island. Continuing towards the coast again, the trail arrives at Cala en Porter, dramatically set between high limestone cliffs and home to one of Menorca’s most picturesque bays. The route then follows the coastline to the quieter coves of Es Canutells and Binidali, both known for their clear waters and relaxed, authentic atmosphere. The stage finishes in the charming coastal village of Binissafúller, with its whitewashed houses and small sandy cove — a peaceful and scenic ending to a diverse stage that combines nature, history, and Menorca’s gentle southern landscapes.
