Day 4 of 8 days around the Camí de Cavalls

Binimel-là to Algaiarens (approx. 20 km)

This stage of the Camí de Cavalls from Binimel-là to Algaiarens is one of the most spectacular and physically demanding sections on Menorca’s north coast. Shortly after leaving Binimel-là, hikers reach the famous Cala Pregonda, one of the island’s most iconic beaches. Its golden-red sand, unusual rock formations, and turquoise water create a landscape that feels almost otherworldly. It is a perfect early highlight and an unforgettable place for a short break or swim. From here, the trail becomes wilder and more challenging. The route continues to Cala Calderer and Cala Pilar, two remote and untouched coves surrounded by dramatic cliffs and deep red earth typical of northern Menorca. These beaches are rarely crowded and offer a true sense of isolation and raw natural beauty. This stage is known for its constant ups and downs. A good physical condition is recommended. The path climbs and descends repeatedly along cliffs and valleys, making it one of the more physically demanding stretches of the Camí de Cavalls — but also one of the most rewarding, with endless panoramic sea views. The stage ends at Algaiarens (La Vall), where the landscape opens into a wide, peaceful valley with beautiful sandy beaches. The area is also known for its wildlife, and with a bit of luck you may spot wild tortoises and wild terrapins that can be found in the wetland area living freely in this protected natural environment — a special and memorable encounter at the end of a stunning northern coastal hike.
