Arenal d'en Castell to Binimel-là (approx. 23 km)
This stage of the Camí de Cavalls from Arenal d’en Castell to Binimel·là showcases the wild and authentic beauty of Menorca’s north coast in all its colours. Leaving Arenal d’en Castell, the trail leads through peaceful countryside (Son Parc) and pine forests before opening up to sweeping coastal views. You pass the new Salinas de la Concepción (Sal de Menorca). The route remains mostly natural and untouched, offering long stretches with very few buildings and a true sense of remoteness. Arriving at Platges de Fornells you reach the “accommodation part” of Fornells with its many apartments and fantastic views. Along the way, you pass the wide and scenic bay of Cala Tirant, a sandy beach at the north coast. Surrounded by dunes and open landscapes, it provides a striking contrast to the rocky cliffs and red earth typical of northern Menorca. From the trail, there are beautiful views across the bay and towards the entrance of the natural harbour of Fornells. As you continue west, the scenery becomes more rugged, dramatic and extremely colourful. The coastline reveals steep cliffs, hidden coves such as Cala Mica, and the impressive landscapes around Cap de Cavalleria, with its iconic lighthouse and panoramic sea views. This stretch feels remote and powerful, shaped by wind, sea, and time (oldest part of Menorca). The stage finishes at Binimel-là, a quiet bay surrounded by rolling hills and unspoiled nature and a nice restaurant which is open during the tourist season.
