Binissafúller - Sa Mesquida (approx. 28 km)
This stage of the Camí de Cavalls from Binissafúller to Sa Mesquida combines quiet coastal nature with the impressive approach to Menorca’s capital, Mahón. Starting in the charming white village of Binissafúller, the trail follows low cliffs and turquoise coves, passing the white village of Binibèquer Vell and the pretty village Son Ganxo, the more turistic town of Punta Prima with its lovely beach with restaurants and shops, the sleepy village of Alcalfar with its Torre d’Alcalfar, the hidden inlet of Cala Rafalet and offering wide views across the Mediterranean. The landscape alternates between pine forests, dry-stone walls, and open countryside typical of the southeast of Menorca. As you continue northeast, the route gradually reveals one of the island’s highlights: Before we get to the vast natural harbour of Mahón (one of the largest in the world!), we pass Es Castell, famous for its British heritage. In Mahón you can enjoy a cup of coffee and one of their famous sweet pastries (Ensaimadas). Walking away from Mahón towards to Sa Mesquida, the more dramatic the views become, with panoramic perspectives over the bay and towards the historic capital. The stage ends at the beautiful sandy beach of Sa Mesquida, where sea, dunes, and views of Mahón come together — making this one of the most varied and scenic stretches of the Camí de Cavalls near the island’s vibrant capital.
